Brooklyn Rose.
Growing up in Michigan, I always knew I wanted to live somewhere else. I spent much of my childhood trying to overcome excruciating self-consciousness about my body and losing myself in fictional worlds. My dream was to always be a writer, but when I went to college, I decided to pursue medicine instead. Once I finished graduate school, I moved to Boston and, comfortable in my career, began taking my writing more seriously. Now, I’m working in a medical speciality I love and writing stories about strong women and charming, soft men and trying to stay hopeful and positive in a world determined to push down anyone who isn’t a cis-het white man.
